"I won't be leaving any time soon" - Matt Smith

Although it was reported back in January that Matt Smith had no intention of relinquishing his role as the Doctor, rumours have continued to circulate the internet.

This morning on the UK television show Daybreak which is broadcast on ITV, Smith explained "It's a thrill playing the part. I don't want to give it up anytime soon. We have a whole season to make and a Christmas special as well, so I won't be leaving any time soon."

Smith went on to say "We'll get this season out of the way and see where I'm at. I take it season by season and I take the job day by day because there's no other way you can do it."

Last year it was announced this this coming season was going to be rocked by the departure of Amy and Rory actors Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill

Talking about their departure from the show, the Doctor Who actor said "It is sad for me, she's a great friend, and creatively I have a really interesting relationship with her and Arthur, but the show is bigger than any of us."

So fans of the show can now rest easy, safe in the knowledge that this Time Lord is here to stay

Rehearsals began at the beginning of February for the new season which is due to air this Autumn.

Todays $10 t-shirt deal of the day over at Teefury is this Whovian Crest designed by WinterArtwork

The sale began at 00.01 EST and will continue until midnight tonight where this design will no longer be available on this site.

Personally I'm not to sure about this one, I remember there being a similar design some time ago, which I feel was better, I missed out on that one though but done feel that this would be a good alternative.  Still its a good design just not one that I'll be wanting to wear....

TARDIS update

As you should already know, I built myself a TARDIS last year, you can check out the build diary here: http://myuntemperedschism.blogspot.com/2011/12/wheres-tardis.html

I met a guy at Hurricane Who last November called Danny, he mentioned that he owned a TARDIS and I remarked that I also own a TARDIS then we started to compare and both agreed that each others is fantastic, however he somewhat had a slight edge on mine being that he also had a remote sound and light board which meant he could press a button and the iconic TARDIS "Vwroooom, Vwroooom" would activate....

Well I met Danny again, this time at Megacon 2012 and he very kindly brought me a circuit of my own.  Soon as I got home I attached it and well.... you can see the awesomeness for yourself.

Thanks again Danny

Oh yeah..... Sexy!!!

MegaCon 2012

So last weekend myself and Scott were guests to MegaCon 2012 in Orlando.  The first thing we had to do was find where we were supposed to be, our table already had our names on it we just had to discover its whereabouts......  Then out the corner of my eye I spotted a TARDIS, and next to that was our table.... call it luck, call it fate I just call it pure awesomeness.

The TARDIS was build specifically for MegaCon by Lewis Bailey

Throughout the 3 days I met some fantastic people and saw some really cool costumes and the added bonus is that the majority of my photos have the TARDIS in the background....

So here are just some of the really cool photos I took last weekend, enjoy.....

Theres a who bunch more photos from MegaCon 2012 on my Facebook please feel free to check them out: http://www.facebook.com/media/MegaCon2012

Will River Song return in Season 7?

Following both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan’s recent appearance on the Graham Norton Show Alex Kingston is next in the line up tonight in the UK and tomorrow on BBC America to promote her new role in the BBC television series Upstairs Downstairs, however, during her interview, which has already been recorded, Kingston is asked about whether or not River Song will return in Season 7.

As you can expect, Kingston is playing her cards close to her chest, only hinting at another appearance from the character.

“You may see her again. Who knows?” she told Norton “Let’s just say, Upstairs Downstairs and Doctor Who don’t film at the same time.”

Kingston also revealed to Graham that for the entire last run she knew about her relationship to Amy Pond even though none of the other actors did, “They discovered it in that episode when they read the script”, she said, referring to A Good Man Goes To War.

Both Karen Gillan and her on screen husband Arthur Darvill are due to exit Doctor Who next season

The Graham Norton Show airs tonight at 10.35pm on BBC1 and Saturday (Feb 4th) 10.15pm ET on BBC America

Steampunk Flux Capacitor

Steampunk Flux Capacitor designed by Paul Bradford

So a few days ago I watched Back to the Future, I than thought about building myself a Flux Capacitor to hang in my TARDIS, after doing some research I found that its not gonna be a cheap project and so while I collect the parts I decided to build myself a Steampunk version.

It stands at around 21" tall and is powered from the mains.
