In order to create the eye stem and the gun and plunger I actually used a couple of carrots, to make the holes I used a 1" hole saw (made a bit of a mess of my drill, but totally worth it). A creation worthy of Davros I think...
Wow. That is a steady hand! Also, maybe Davros wouldn't have been so grouchy if he'd gotten enough beta carotene.
